Sulman Hussain, Senior Service Consultant at Sytner Maidenhead, has been raising money for the SKT Welfare charity.

Read more about his great fundraising below.

"Myself and a few friends went to a charity event recently where we learned about an opportunity to raise money to help those in need in Syria. We decided to pledge 10 homes and help SKT welfare achieve their goal of building 4 fully functioning villages of safe, secure and strong homes for the needy in Syria. Whatever we can do to help people in need all counts and we all have a responsibility to ensure we are doing our utmost to help.

I am very grateful for what I have and the life I live, which is why I believe it's important to help those that are less fortunate. We are very quick to moan at the smallest things, but we often fail to realise how easy we have it living in the UK. If any of my friends or family were in the same situation a lot of the people in Syria are in, I would want to help them.

SKT stands for Spreading Kindness Together, which is why I want to get as many people as I can involved, because together we can achieve greatness. SKT Welfare are a group of humanitarians who want to give everybody the chance, disregarding race, religion or gender. They focus mainly on urgent aid, healthcare, education and orphan care. In the 11 years of being a charity they have provided over 8 million people with clean and safe water, and distributed over half a million warm winter packs to people in danger.

With the help of SKT Welfare and yourself, we are planning to raise the amount required in order to build 10 homes for those in need in the No Fly Zone area in Sham, Syria. SKT has, and will be, working with marginalised and vulnerable communities including orphans and widows to help them build better futures. With their 100% donation policy, you can rest assured that every penny of your donation will go directly to those who need it most. The donations you make will also go towards building a school for the village, energy required for the homes, quick access to the nearby SKT hospital and a safe space for women."
